Nigerian Breweries Plc has posted a revenue of ₦733.19 billion for the second quarter of 2025, a 53% increase over the ₦478.84 billion recorded in the same period last year.

The company also reported a net profit of ₦88.06 billion in Q2 2025, marking a sharp reversal from a loss of ₦84.32 billion recorded during the corresponding period in 2024.

According to results submitted to the Nigerian Exchange (NGX), the brewer’s cost of sales rose to ₦423.57 billion, up from ₦319.19 billion in 2024. Operating expenses also increased, with selling, distribution, and administrative costs rising 29% to ₦159.58 billion.

Managing Director Thibaut Boidin attributed the improved performance to strategic agility, despite economic headwinds such as inflation and weak consumer purchasing power.

“The Company also benefited from the prudent utilisation of the proceeds of the Rights Issue as the net financing costs went down significantly by 87%. This deleveraging move has also strengthened the Company’s balance sheet, in addition to lowering the exposure to financing costs in a high-interest rate environment,” Boidin said.

He added that stable exchange rates and the clearing of foreign-currency debts led to a net forex gain for the period under review.

Company Secretary and Legal Director, Uaboi Agbebaku, reinforced the firm’s long-term strategy:

“The full ownership and integration of the operations of Distell Wines and Spirits Nigeria Limited will further strengthen the platform for long-term value creation for our Shareholders.”
