In a significant boost to educational and diplomatic relations between Nigeria and Germany, twenty Nigerian students have been awarded scholarships to study at the European School of Management and Technology (ESMT), Berlin.
The announcement was made during a special dinner hosted in honour of Nigeria’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, by German entrepreneur Lars Windhorst.
The scholarship programme was revealed at an exclusive event held at the China Club in Berlin, attended by a distinguished assembly of leaders from both the private and public sectors.

In his speech, Ambassador Tuggar also seized the opportunity to underscore Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape.
He invited the German business community to invest in Nigeria, pointing out the country’s considerable investment opportunities.
He commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration for its ongoing economic reforms, including the removal of subsidies on Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) and the unification of the exchange rate, which have positively impacted Nigeria’s economic environment.
The Minister also addressed the need for the Global North to focus on infrastructural development in Africa rather than being preoccupied with geopolitical issues.
He advocated for increased investment in African infrastructure as a means of fostering sustainable growth and development.
