Akinade Oduntan, a Nigerian Canadian and the Special Assistant and Advisor to a Member of Parliament in the Canadian Parliament, has been appointed as the Mayor’s Brampton Business Ambassador.
The role, ratified by the Mayor of Brampton, Mayor Patrick Brown, recognizes Oduntan’s contributions to various community services and his standing as a leader in the Black Canadian community.
Oduntan will serve as a spokesperson in his new capacity and initiate efforts to attract investors, businesses, and investments, mainly from African countries, into the City of Brampton.
”His appointment underscores his commitment to fostering economic development and building bridges between the diverse communities in Brampton and beyond,” a statement from the Mayor’s office read.
Akinade Oduntan, also known as ‘Akin,’ is actively engaged in community service and holds positions on important advisory committees.
He represents the Black community on the Advisory Committee to the Mayor of Brampton and serves on the Advisory Committee of Brampton Transit.
Additionally, he is an active member of Peel Police Chief’s Resource Council, showcasing his dedication to both professional and community groups in Canada and internationally.
