In her first international endeavour since taking office as Nigeria’s minister of industry, trade & investment, Hon. Dr. Doris Nkiruka Uzoka-Anite is participating in a high-level summit in India.

Dr. Anite said her primary objective during the mission is to closely examine the factors driving India’s remarkable success in these areas and to extract valuable insights that could benefit Nigeria’s economic and trade landscape.

Dr Anite, a seasoned professional with a background in finance and medicine, took to X to share her thoughts on the importance of the international summit.

She stated, “This summit, which marks my initial international undertaking as Nigeria’s newly appointed Minister of Industry, Trade & Investment, my primary objective has been to closely examine the dynamic factors propelling India’s remarkable success & to discern valuable insights for Nigeria.”

India has long been regarded as a global economic powerhouse with a flourishing trade and investment environment.

Dr Anite’s decision to focus on India as her inaugural international mission underscores the significance of India’s achievements and the potential lessons Nigeria can draw from its successes.

During the summit, Dr. Anite is expected to discuss with her Indian counterparts, industry leaders, and experts in various fields to understand the policies, strategies, and innovations that have propelled India’s growth in industry, trade and investment.

Key areas of interest for Nigeria include export promotion, foreign direct investment, trade facilitation, and economic diversification.

As Nigeria seeks to boost its own economic and trade sectors, the insights and best practices gathered from India’s experiences may prove invaluable in shaping Nigeria’s future policies and strategies.
