Nollywood actress Regina Daniels has cautioned her colleagues against employing young girls in the Nigerian movie industry.
The movie star said Nollywood is dangerous for young girls and accused her colleagues who employ underage girls of engaging in child labour.
“Nollywood is a very dangerous place for young girls. I know, I was there. But I was opportune to have a very strong mother, a mother that was constantly on my neck, a mother that was feared by lots of people. So, they knew that was Mama Regina’s daughter so they gave me all the space.”
The movie star also recounted how she met a 14-year-old girl on set who worked as a makeup artist without being paid.
The actress said the little girl opened up about working with celebrities/crew members and sleeping in hotels.
Regina Daniels disclosed that she was able to put her in one of the best schools in Delta.
Meanwhile, Regina Daniels is in a celebration mood after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared her husband, Ned Nwoko, the winner of the Delta North senatorial seat.
The returning officer, Dr Josephine Okeakwa, declared Nwoko the winner of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) on February 27, at Oshimili South LGA.
In a post via her Instagram handle, she thanked the people of Anioma and everyone who supported and saw to the victory of her husband.
