The Nigerian Security and Civil Defense Corps [NSCDC] has Introduced Career enhancement Courses for its officers and men to encourage high professionalism standards in the corps.
Dr Ahmed Audi NSCDC CG has announced this at a 5-day workshop for officers across the country in Abuja on Wednesday.
He said that from now on, any NSCDC officer who fails the promotion test after three unsuccessful attempts will be removed from service and replaced by competent officers.
Speaking at the end of the workshop on the topic, “curriculum optimisation and harmonization process,” Audi said, “The NSCDC has for a long time recognized the importance of training and retraining of its staff as the way to optimal performance and will continue to focus more on training and mentorship.”
At the end of the workshop, Dr. Audi called on participants to utilize the lessons learned to enhance their performance and to pass on the knowledge to their respective formations.
He said that the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) is fully engaged in the “Revived Hope Agenda” of the present administration, that any human rights abuses committed by the Corps will not be tolerated, and that accidental discharges are unacceptable.
The Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies [IST], stressed the workshop was necessary in changing the mindset of people.
He commended the NSDC for its commitment to continuous training and retraining, which he said would increase their capabilities to carry out their responsibilities.
