Uche Ekwunife, the Anambra Central senatorial district for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has denied reports that she is supporting Peter Obi ahead of the general elections.

According to the Punch, Ekwunife reiterated the fact that the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate does not stand a chance in becoming the number one citizen of the country despite his pedigree.

The former lawmaker released a statement on Sunday, February 5, 2023, that Obi lacks the capacity to gather votes that would see him emerge as Nigeria’s next president.

Ekwunife said: “I want to state categorically that those statements never emanated from me or my campaign council.

“I also, wish to state that Peter Obi is my leader and an elder brother from Anambra Central whom I respect and hold in high esteem.”
