ChatGPT Maker OpenAI is developing a new AI model known as “Strawberry” to assist its artificial intelligence tools achieve human-level intelligence through enhanced reasoning.
OpenAI, directed by Sam Altman, is developing a new reasoning engine for its large language models (LLMs) known as strawberries, according to Reuters, citing internal business documents and sources familiar with the subject matter.
As per the report OpenAI is anticipating that Strawberry would significantly boost the reasoning ability of its AI models.
Strawberry, as per the report, could address more complicated real-world problems at scale by efficiently scanning the internet on its own and reliably performing what OpenAI refers to as “deep research.”
This could entail developing new software applications or producing significant scientific breakthroughs.
Newsng gathered OpenAI’s strategy to use Strawberry for cutting-edge AI research, while it is unclear exactly when it will be released.
The project is still under wraps, even within the corporation, and is described as a work in progress.
Strawberry builds on OpenAI’s Project Q*, which was revealed in November 2023 and was hailed by industry analysts as a technological advance that would enable the creation of “far more powerful artificial intelligence models.”
Following pre-training on enormous datasets, Strawberry is expected to mark a specific method of processing AI models.
The generative AI models from OpenAI can be “post-trained” in a specific fashion, meaning that they can be modified to perform better even after they have been “trained” on a larger set of data.
Moreover, OpenAI remained silent on this leak in an official capacity.
However, an OpenAI representative stated that the company wants its AI models to perceive and comprehend the environment like that of humans.
”Continuous research into new AI capabilities is a common practice in the industry, with a shared belief that these systems will improve in reasoning over time,” OpenAI stated.
Meanwhile, in response to growing regulatory scrutiny, corporate behemoths Apple and Microsoft reportedly resigned from the OpenAI board earlier in July.
