The Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke has proposed a budget of ₦273, 908, 997, 410. 00 to the States House of Assembly.
The budget is part of the 2024 Appropriation Bill.
The budget, which was titled: Budget of Reconstruction and Recovery was presented at plenary on Thursday. Governor Adeleke stated that the funds were allocated for capital expenditures and ₦165, 654, 976, 700.00 for recurring expenses.
Adeleke put it this way: “The budget is intended to rebuild the state’s battered economy.”
“This budget presentation complies with the current state statutes, which mandate that the House receive the budget before the end of the year.
The Governor promised that the state would reach new heights and thanked the House of Assembly for their understanding. He explained to also request the house support in the coming years.
Adewale Egbedun, the Speaker of the Assembly, had earlier stated that the House was prepared to collaborate with the Executive branch of government to guarantee the budget’s effective execution.
“We will approve this budget with a strong sense of accountability. “A budget that addresses the state’s challenges will be delivered by the Assembly.”
