Over 364 Million Shares Trade Hands as NGX Records N11.35bn Monday Turnover

Trading activities on the Nigerian Exchange (NGX) began the week on a mixed note, with declines recorded in both market volume and turnover despite an increase in the number of concluded deals.

At the close of trading on Monday, a total of 364,344,217 shares were exchanged in 32,538 deals, valued at approximately ₦11.35 billion.

This represents a 31% drop in traded volume and a 26% decline in turnover compared to the previous trading session on Friday, November 7. However, the number of deals rose significantly by 32%, reflecting increased trading activity among market participants. The NGX market capitalisation currently stands at ₦94.5 trillion.

News.ng reports that out of 130 listed equities traded during the session, 13 recorded gains, while 42 closed negative, indicating a bearish market sentiment.

Aso Savings & Loans led the gainers’ chart, appreciating by 10% to close at ₦0.99 per share. It was followed by Deap Capital Management & Trust with a 9.83% increase, Cornerstone Insurance, which gained 8.7%, and Neimeth International Pharmaceuticals, which advanced by 8.65%.

RT Briscoe led the declining stocks with a 10% drop to ₦3.06 per share. Linkage Assurance also shed 10%, while Nigerian Aviation Handling Company (NAHCO) fell by 9.95%, and AIICO Insurance dipped by 9.89%.

Access Holdings recorded the highest trade volume of the day at 22.8 million shares. It was followed by Zenith Bank with 21.9 million shares, Chams with 17.8 million shares, and Aso Savings & Loans with 14.8 million shares traded.
