Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao has confirmed he is in direct talks with Floyd Mayweather Jr. for a long-awaited rematch, with Netflix reportedly in discussions to stream the blockbuster bout.

Pacquiao, 46, revealed that negotiations are ongoing for two potential fights in 2026—an exhibition against Vasiliy Lomachenko in January and a high-profile showdown with Mayweather later in the year.

Should the Filipino icon step into the ring again, it would mark the 31st year of his professional career, which began in 1995 and produced an unprecedented legacy as boxing’s only eight-division world champion over 73 fights.

The first meeting between Pacquiao and Mayweather in May 2015 broke global pay-per-view records but disappointed fans due to its lack of action. Mayweather claimed a unanimous-decision victory, while Pacquiao later disclosed that he fought with a torn rotator cuff sustained during training.

Pacquiao has acknowledged that negotiations are underway for a fight “probably in Las Vegas” in an interview with Seconds Out. April dates are being explored, as is the potential for a July event.

“Right now, it is in negotiations,” said Pacquiao. “It depends if we can understand each other. My people and his people are directly coordinating.

“[It would be a] very interesting fight. Right now, I don’t have a shoulder problem. It’s a good fight, and I am sure the world of boxing would be excited if the rematch were to push through. Initially, we are almost agreeing with each other. A lot of things we agree with each other on, but there are a few conditions we are still negotiating.”

Speculation about a rematch has persisted for years, but the latest development—and Netflix’s involvement—could finally bring one of boxing’s biggest rivalries back to life under the streaming platform’s growing live combat-sports division.
