Desiree Ellis, coach of South Africa’s senior female national team, has revealed how the Bayana Bayana will defeat the Super Falcons of Nigeria in the second leg of the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier, which will be played in Pretoria.
Ellis, speaking ahead of today’s game, said in an interview with Safa.net that the team must do better than they did in the first leg played in Abuja.
She further noted that for her team to defeat the Super Falcons, the Bayana Bayana have to put everything into it to make sure that they get a goal early to be able to kick-start from there.
“Looking forward to the game tomorrow, we have looked at the footage [of the first game] as well,” Ellis told Safa.net.

“We know we are better than what we showed in Nigeria. We can do way better than that, and I think the second half showed how well we can play. It is a match we have to win.
“We have to put everything into it to make sure that we get the goal early to be able to kickstart from there. We know it won’t be easy; Nigeria got the one goal advantage, and we have to prepare for every eventuality.”
In the same vein, the coach of the Super Falcons of Nigeria, Randy Waldrum, is confident that the Super Falcons will defeat Bayana Bayana in the second leg of the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier.
Waldrum, who expressed his confidence about the positive outcome of the match during an interview with NFF TV said that the Falcons will approach the game the same way they approached the first leg played at the Monshood Abiola Stadium in Abuja.
The coach said that his players know the importance of claiming the Olympics ticket after a 16-year absence and will do the needful in the reverse fixture at the Lotfus Versfeld Stadium, Pretoria.
