Trabzonspor striker Paul Onuachu has given up on his ambition to play in the English Premier League (EPL) again as he intends to focus on making a name for himself in Turkey.
The lanky Super Eagles striker, who has scored nine goals in 15 games in the Turkish top division before going on a goal drought, says he is content to stay in Turkey.
Recall that when the massive striker joined the Premier League in January 2023, it was a dream come true. However, after Southampton was demoted to the Championship and he failed to make an impression, it all turned into a nightmare.
He was then sent on a loan move to Turkey as a result of his unconvincing performances at Southampton, and in 17 league games there, he has scored nine goals and provided three assists.

Ertugrul Dogan, the president of Trabzonspor, has also been compelled by the striker’s performances to state that he wants the Nigerian forward to stay with the team for an additional season on loan.
The player is expected to sign a permanent contract with the Turkish team, but his parent club Southampton may seek up to €15 million, which Trabzonspor may not afford. As a result, the loan agreement may be extended.
Onuachu, who has won league titles in Denmark and Belgium, was voted Belgian Footballer of the Year in the latter country and won the country’s top-scoring Golden Bull trophy, has declared that he is happy to remain at Trabzonspor.
“I am very happy in Trabzon. Me and my family want to stay here,” the 29-year-old Onuachu told Fotomac last week.
