The incumbent governor of Oyo state recorded a dominant victory at his polling unit in Ibadan North East LGA.
Representing the All Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Makinde polled 174 votes while the All Progressives Congress (APC) scored 28, Accord Party scored 5, and the Labour Party scored 3 votes.
Makinde also defeated the gubernatorial candidate of the Accord Party Bayo Adelabu at his polling unit as he got 60, the AP finished second with 38 while Teslim Folarin of the APC had 22 votes.
Elsewhere, there were mixed feelings in Kaduna state as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Uba Sani won at the polling unit of Governor Nasir El-Rufai and lost at the government house in the state capital.
Sani garnered 257 votes against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP)’s 81 while New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) scored two votes, while ADP got three votes and the PRP got four.
However, the APC lost the two polling units inside the government house as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate, Isa Ashiru Kudan, won with 77 votes, while Uba Sani scored 40 votes.
