Nwoba Chika Nwoba, a Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain from Ebonyi, has accused the state governor, Engr Dave Umahi, of coming from a family known for stealing.
Nwoba, the spokesman for Atiku Abubakar’s 2023 presidential campaign in Ebonyi state, made the allegation in a Facebook post on Friday, May 19, 2023.
He said Pa Nweze Umahi, the father of the Ebonyi governor, was sent to prison when he was alive by his community leaders, ”over steady stealing.” Uburu people know the story very well.
The PDP publicity secretary in Ebonyi state also alleged that a sibling of the governor, Gen. Obi Nwumahi, was sacked from the Nigerian Army over an allegation of crude oil theft in the Niger Delta.
He added:
”Another son of the man, Austin Umahi, ran away from a company he was working in as an accountant in Portharcourt, and nobody knows what was pursuing him till today in an office he was receiving N450k every month as salary.
”And now, Governor Umahi! His own is a compendium of sad tales. A snake must give birth to long things.
”Story has it that he was into crude oil discrepancy in Rivers state as a young man, which led to his establishing filling stations with the protection of his General brother.
”That’s why he claims becoming a billionaire at 25 without a trace of any business through which he became a billionaire.”
