Spanish tactician Pep Guardiola has bid farewell to Argentina striker Julian Alvarez after the player decided to dump Manchester City for a move to Athletico Madrid.
Per respected transfer guru, Fabrizio Romano, Atlético Madrid is planning for Julián Álvarez to take a private flight on Sunday with Diego Simeone, already in direct contact with the player.
Romano further disclosed in a post on his X page (formerly Twitter) that medical tests have already been booked for Monday, after which the player will sign a five-year deal.

The story has now been confirmed by Pep Guardiola who has wished Julian Alvarez all the best as he prepares to leave Manchester United for Athletico Madrid.
“He wants to leave and Atlético is a top club, so it’s ok. Good luck to Juli, we loved him, we won everything”.
“I really wish him all the best”, the coach said via @SamLee
When asked if he would consider replacing the talented striker with another player Pep said; “We will see, we are discussing internally about it”
“It could happen or it could not happen, we will consider and see what to do”.
