Peter Obi defy odds, becomes 1st presidential candidate to visit Borno

Labour Party (LP) Presidential candidate Peter Obi, running mate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed, alongside national chairman, Julius Abure; governorship candidate in Borno, Captain Ibrahim Mshelia and others made a surprise visit to Biu Emirate, in the Southern part of Borno state. 

According to officials of the party, Obi became the first presidential candidate to have visited the state that has been ravaged by insecurity in recent years.

LP supporters were present to welcome the former Anambra state governor and his team as the natives of Southern Borno could not believe their eyes.

In a speech submitted to the press by Olusegun Dosunmu, Obi promise to raise the standard of living of South Borno

Obi said, “I am one of you and feel your plight.” I know that you are all hardworking and want to go back to your farms. “I am giving you my word that this insecurity issue will be a thing of the past in my administration, and I will ensure that my government gives you the best of life.”
