Pi Network has unveiled a new partnership with CiDi Games, marking one of its most deliberate steps yet toward expanding the network’s real-world use cases through gaming. The collaboration, announced via an official post on X, merges CiDi’s game-development expertise with Pi Network’s global community, reinforced by an investment from Pi Network Ventures. The goal is to position gaming as a central driver of activity and practical utility for Pi holders, known as Pioneers.
CiDi Games, which specialises in creating gaming experiences that incorporate Pi, will integrate the cryptocurrency into its upcoming H5 Game Platform—an HTML5-based, lightweight gaming hub designed for casual players. Beyond developing its own titles, CiDi is building an open framework that will provide developers with additional tools, APIs, and technical infrastructure to seamlessly connect their games to the Pi ecosystem. The objective is to establish a scalable, developer-friendly environment where Pi-powered games can thrive.
A major part of the partnership is the support from Pi Network Ventures, the investment arm focused on backing builders who can accelerate network adoption. Pi Network Ventures chose CiDi Games because of its successful history operating large-scale gaming platforms and its ambition to create what it calls a sustainable Web3 gaming ecosystem. Pi Network believes that pairing its global reach with CiDi’s development capabilities positions the partnership to push broader Web3 gaming adoption—centred on Pi as the medium for transactions, in-game purchases, and rewards.
Pi Network has repeatedly emphasised that gaming is a natural match for its platform. With a socially driven user base and a system oriented around digital interactions, the network views gaming as an ideal space to showcase Pi’s real-world functionality. Over time, Pi has invested heavily in this vertical through hackathons, developer tools, incubator programs, and the Pi Ad Network—all designed to encourage creators to build applications that utilise Pi. The network even launched its own game, FruityPi, to demonstrate how Pi Wallet, Pi payments, and ads can be seamlessly integrated into functional applications.
CiDi Games is currently working on a suite of titles that will launch within the Pi ecosystem, with initial product testing expected in the first quarter of 2026. After the testing phase, efforts will shift toward optimising performance, incorporating user feedback, and aligning future developments with the broader ecosystem’s goals.
The partnership highlights Pi Network’s wider strategy to scale real-world utility through multi-layered development efforts—from grassroots tools like the Pi App Studio to strategic, high-impact investments via Pi Network Ventures. Both Pi Network and CiDi Games state that more updates will be released as development continues, signalling strong momentum toward making gaming a core pillar of Pi’s expanding Web3 utility.
