President Bola Tinubu has challenged Nigeria’s security chiefs to find an unequivocal resolution to the country’s multifaceted security challenges.
Speaking at a Presidential Security Briefing in Abuja, Tinubu stressed the imperative for definitive success against threats, emphasizing the need to consolidate progress in eliminating various security issues across diverse fronts.
While acknowledging the strides in countering threats, Tinubu asserted that a conclusive conclusion to these challenges remains paramount.
He underscored the necessity for a holistic victory to safeguard investments in infrastructure, social security, MSME empowerment, and other growth catalysts.
The President highlighted the nation’s aspiration for a $1 trillion economy soon, linking its realization to the cessation of hindrances posed by adversaries to national progress.
Expressing confidence in the security apparatus, he commended their efforts but highlighted recent lapses, deeming them unacceptable and emphasizing the need for improvement.
Tinubu lauded the enhanced coordination among agencies while emphasizing the urgency to finalize the progressive offensive against adversaries.
He urged for the eventual return of troops to their localities and the reallocation of resources for critical economic expansion programs.
Tinubu also set a tangible goal for the armed forces, stressing the need to ensure the sustainable production of two million barrels of crude oil per day, including condensates, within the first quarter of 2024.
Asserting the gravity of the situation, he underscored the imperative for heightened vigilance and swift action against all elements impeding national progress.
The President concluded by reaffirming a firm commitment to sustained momentum, reiterating that failure is not an option under his leadership.
He sternly warned those working against the nation’s agenda, promising resolute action to uproot any malign actors hindering national growth and stability.
“I do not play with my intelligence reports. I have multiple lines of sight.
“The Navy and sister branches must step up their game to achieve our aims for the benefit of all Nigerians. All malign actors will be aggressively uprooted from our midst.
“Those working against the national agenda from within and without will meet justice. Your task is clear. We will sustain our momentum. Failure is not an option under my leadership,” he said.
