President Bola Tinubu, during his visit to Maiduguri, Borno State, on Monday, extended heartfelt condolences to the families affected by the recent tragic bombing incident in Tudun Biri, Kaduna State.
He mourned the loss of lives, particularly those who perished while reciting the Shadada during the observance of maulud, a pivotal religious moment for practising Muslims.
“These individuals demonstrated deep faith in their final moments, reciting the Shadada. May the Almighty comfort their families as the nation grieves their departure. May their souls rest in eternal peace,” prayed President Tinubu.
At the palace of the Shehu of Borno, Alhaji Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Al-Amin El-Kanemi, President Tinubu reiterated the Federal Government’s commitment to supporting families affected by persistent insecurity in parts of Borno State.
Stressing his administration’s relentless efforts to combat insecurity, President Tinubu emphasized that security concerns were not limited to battlefields.
He pledged improved amenities and support for the armed forces and their families, a commitment reflected in the 2024 budget.
He stated that under his leadership, the National Security Adviser’s Office has worked to enhance coordination among security agencies, facilitating inter-agency intelligence sharing.
On his part, Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno State commended the Tinubu administration and pledged his government’s continued support for the nation’s armed forces in their fight against insecurity.
Also speaking, the Shehu of Borno urged President Tinubu to focus on infrastructural development in insurgency-affected regions, calling for the revitalization of the Lake Chad Commission to aid surrounding communities and initiatives for job creation.
Recognizing Shehu’s support, President Tinubu promised increased involvement of traditional institutions in grassroots stability nationwide, emphasizing their role in ensuring peace and stability.
