Atalanta FC coach Gian Piero Gasperini has told those who care to listen that French Ligue 1 side Paris Saint-Germain will attempt to sign Ademola Lookman again in January.
Gasperini, who gave the hint in a chat with La Gazzetta dello Sport disclosed that PSG will make every attempt to sign Lookman, who placed 14th on the 2024 Ballon d’Or list.
He stated that Lookman was tempted with the offer of joining PSG in the summer when the club approached him but it was not a good moment to leave Atalanta at the time.
“Lookman tempted in the summer by PSG? No, it was not a good moment. And who knows, maybe certain hypotheses will recur, hopefully not in January.
“But in the meantime, now, it is only important that he is ‘inside’ the team,” Gasperini said.
This comes days after Lookman reacted to being named as the only African player on the recently released 2024 Ballon d’Or list.
Lookman who was speaking to BBC Sports Africa in an interview said that being nominated as the only African player on the 2024 Ballon d’Or list makes him feel special.
He stated that he has achieved great things with his club and national team this year (2024) and to be recognised as one of the contenders for the Ballon d’Or is a great achievement.
