In a recent development, questions have emerged regarding the university records and identity of President Bola Tinubu.
The recent controversy centres around a youth service certificate submitted by President Tinubu to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on June 17, 2022.
According to the certificate, President Tinubu’s full name is listed as “Bola Adekunle Tinubu.” This discrepancy in his name has raised concerns and prompted further investigations into his educational background.
This week, Chicago State University, where President Tinubu is believed to have studied, released a statement clarifying their stance. The university had previously claimed that President Tinubu was one of its former students.
However, they now acknowledge that their position was based on the assumption that the transcripts of a student named “Bola A. Tinubu” belonged to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The university’s statement highlighted a significant issue: they have been unable to find any additional documentation, such as a passport, social security card, driver’s license, or other photo identification, that would definitively match the former student’s face with that of the Nigerian leader.
The revelation has raised questions about President Tinubu’s educational history and the accuracy of the information provided to INEC.
The discrepancy in his name and the lack of concrete identification has led to calls for a thorough investigation into his academic records and identity.
Atiku Abubakar, Tinubu’s political rival and the 2023 presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, has already accused the president of forgery.
The former vice president is expected to present his argument at the Supreme Court, where he is challenging Tinubu’s electoral victory as declared by INEC.
