American female football tactician has told those who care to listen about why he has decided to step down as the coach of the female national team of Nigeria nicknamed ‘The Falcons’.
Waldrum who opened up in a recent interview disclosed that he has decided to step down as the coach of the Super Falcons due to the deteriorating health of his wife.
The 67-year-old coach stated that it has been a very difficult few weeks following the Olympics, with his wife’s health issues, and the worries that come with such situations.
He stated that after much thought and consideration, he has decided to step down from his role to allow the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) ample time to find a replacement.

“It’s been a very difficult few weeks following the Olympics, with my wife’s health issues, and the worries that come with that,” stated the American.
‘‘After much thought and consideration, I am hereby resigning my position as Head Coach of the Super Falcons. This will allow the NFF ample time to find the next manager to take over this incredible squad.”
In October 2020, Waldrum took over as head coach of the Super Falcons, succeeding Thomas Dennerby, intending to guide the senior women’s team to victory on a worldwide scale.
