Real Madrid has confirmed that its newly signed right full-back, Trent Alexander-Arnold, has suffered a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg.
The 26-year-old defender picked up the problem during last night’s Champions League game and has since undergone medical assessments to determine the extent of the damage.
While the club has not given an official timeline for his recovery, early indications suggest he could be sidelined for several weeks, raising doubts over his availability for upcoming Premier League and Europa League fixtures.
The player’s injury was confirmed in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by Fabrizio Romano, who said it was a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg.
“Official: Trent Alexander-Arnold has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in the femoral biceps of his left leg.” Romano wrote on his official X page.
Alexander-Arnold’s absence will come as a blow to Xabi Alonso’s side, with the England international playing a key role in Liverpool’s defensive setup and creative build-up play from the back.
Further updates are expected as the player continues treatment with the club’s medical staff.
