Super Eagles left-back Zaidu Sanusi is reportedly being pursued by newly promoted Spanish La Liga team Real Oviedo and Portuguese powerhouse FC Porto.

To strengthen its roster in preparation for the forthcoming season, the recently promoted Spanish team has taken the step to recruit Zaidu Sanusi.

According to claims from Portuguese media outlet A Bola, which were quoted by Nigerian sports news sites BSNSports.com.ng and Daily Post Nigeria, Real Oviedo is interested in the 28-year-old defender.

Sanusi, who joined Porto in 2020, has reportedly dropped down the pecking order under new boss Francesco Farioli, appearing in only six games for the Portuguese club last season.

Despite some early offers from Real Oviedo to secure the services of the player, news reports cite sources claiming that Porto is unwilling to release Sanusi on a free transfer.

The Nigerian international’s contract with Porto still has two years left on it, and the Dragons are requesting payment before they will sanction any transfer.

Sanusi may be deemed surplus to requirements by the club coach, although Porto plans to recover a sum for his exit to any interested team hoping to sign him.
