Rema says he abandoned his UNILAG admission because of ASUU strike

Afrobeats singer Rema has disclosed that he abandoned his admission at the University of Lagos due to the Academic Staff Union of Universities’ 8-month strike (ASUU).

He made the statement during an interview on Kiss FM radio. The musician said he had quit school and moved on.

Rema disclosed that he planned to do part-time schooling and music, but the strike ruined his plans.

Despite her early opposition, he said his mother now supports his choice to concentrate on music.

In another news, Nigerian singer Ayra Starr has dismissed the rumour of being romantically involved with Rema.

In a recent interview with Kiss FM, the music star said she was just being informed about the rumour.

“I haven’t heard that before,” she said.

When asked to confirm if it’s true, Ayra Starr said Rema is like a brother to her.

“No, that’s my brother in Christ o,” she said.
