The Federal Government has stressed the need to partner with foreign organizations to eliminate corrupt practices in the Nigerian Economy.

The chairperson of the anti–corruption committee Hon. Kayode Akiolu while in a meeting revealed the 10th assembly’s concerns about having a corrupt free government.

While assuring the CSOs and other foreign organizations of their readiness to discharge their duties, Akiolu assures Nigerians his committee is partnering with other anti–corruption agencies to fight corruption.

The reps member who showed concerns about Nigeria’s integrity and transparency requested to head the committee adding that it is in line with the House of Representative agenda to fight any form of corruption in the country.

In a statement, he explained that this agenda is part of the House’s goals to achieve which is in the interest of Nigerians. He also said working hand in hand, as well as other legal reforms, will lead to the effective termination of corrupt practices in the country.

The committee plans an enlightenment program to teach members about anti-corruption, its policies and the challenges that go with it.

He also said that the committee will work with the CSO and international organizations to host a session that will source citizen’s answers by working together with other agencies.

The committee will be conducting site visits to Anti-Corruption Agencies as part of its efforts to monitor and assess their efforts to reduce corruption.

This will enable them to be physically present at the agencies to evaluate the implementation of their measures and identify any areas that need improvement.

By doing so, the committee will be able to verify the effectiveness of the agencies’ measures and make sure accountability and transparency are maintained.

Furthermore, this will enable the committee to make targeted recommendations and provide support to improve their efforts to fight corruption. This is part of the Committee’s plan to increase public involvement in legislative processes by organizing inclusive and representative Meetings.
