To bolster the security and performance of its cryptocurrency platform, Turkish bank Garanti BBVA Kripto has announced a strategic partnership with Ripple and IBM.
Following a successful trial run in 2023, this collaboration aims to significantly enhance the protection of digital assets and improve user confidence in the platform, which now serves over 14,000 users.
The partnership will see Ripple’s Custody services integrated with IBM’s advanced cybersecurity technologies.
This combined effort is designed to shield the platform from cyber threats and provide robust security features, such as data encryption and isolated customer environments.
These tools, along with Hardware Security Modules (HSMs), will offer top-tier protection for stored assets, ensuring that user data and funds remain safe.
Korcan Abalı, CEO of Garanti BBVA Kripto, highlighted the increasing demand for secure storage and transfers of digital assets among their customers.
He emphasized the need for constant innovation in security measures as the platform grows.
Işıl Kılınç Gürtuna, General Manager of IBM Türkiye, echoed these sentiments, stressing that the rise of digital assets calls for stringent security standards and compliance, which IBM’s technology is well-equipped to provide.
