Nigeria international Umar Sadiq has completed a permanent transfer to LaLiga side Valencia, returning to the club after a successful loan spell in the second half of last season.
Sadiq, 28, made an immediate impact during his loan spell, scoring six goals in 19 league appearances, and now looks forward to continuing his career at Mestalla permanently.
“I’m very excited and happy. I’ve been waiting since last summer, and finally, I’m here. I’m the happiest guy in the world. I wanted to come back here; I did everything I could,” Sadiq said in an interview with the club’s official website.
The striker highlighted Valencia’s culture and fan base as key factors in his decision. “Valencia CF is one of the biggest clubs in Spain, and you can see it in the culture and the people: they never abandon the club,” he added.
Sadiq also cited ambition and fan passion as driving forces behind his return. “Last season I saw how much the fans wanted results, and that made me bring out the best in myself,” he said.
The permanent move gives Valencia a proven goalscorer and reinforces their attacking options for the remainder of the LaLiga season. For Sadiq, it represents an opportunity to continue his development in a familiar environment where he has already demonstrated his value.
