Mohamed Salah etched his name deeper into Premier League history on Saturday as Liverpool secured a 2–0 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion at Anfield.
The Egyptian forward set a new league record for goal involvements after providing an assist for Hugo Ekitike’s second goal of the match, taking his total Premier League contributions for Liverpool to 277.
Salah, now 33, has recorded 188 goals and 89 assists in the competition since joining the Reds in 2017, underlining his remarkable consistency and longevity at the highest level.
With that assist, he moved ahead of former Manchester United star Wayne Rooney, whose long-standing record of 276 goal involvements had stood as the benchmark in the Premier League era.
The milestone further cements Salah’s status as one of the most influential players in Liverpool’s modern history and one of the league’s all-time greats.
In addition to breaking the overall record, Salah’s latest contribution also saw him move joint top in the rankings for the most Premier League goal involvements at a single stadium.
Liverpool’s win against Brighton strengthened their momentum in the league, with Salah once again at the heart of their attacking success.
