Jannik Sinner produced a spellbinding performance to defend his ATP Finals title, defeating rival Carlos Alcaraz in straight sets as the curtain closed on a monumental season for men’s tennis.
The year 2025 has been defined by the fierce and captivating rivalry dubbed ‘Sincaraz’—two generational talents pushing the sport into a new era. Between them, Sinner and Alcaraz swept all four Grand Slams this season, including their unforgettable Roland-Garros showdown, where Alcaraz saved three match points in one of the matches of the decade.
So it was only fitting that the ATP Finals ended with another chapter in their escalating saga.
Backed by a roaring home crowd at the Inalpi Arena, Sinner rose to the moment. The world No. 2 saved a set point in a tight opening set before overpowering Alcaraz in a series of breathtaking rallies to secure a 7-6(4), 7-5 victory.
“Amazing feelings, very emotional seeing my team there, the whole box. It means the world to me,” declared Sinner after the game.
“We are individual athletes, but without my team, this is not possible. Celebrating this trophy at the end of the year after such an intense last couple of months, there is no better ending.”
With the win, Sinner completed another perfect run at the season-ending championships, winning all 10 sets for the second straight year. His indoor dominance continues to grow—now at 31 consecutive victories and counting.
The triumph cements Sinner’s status as one half of the sport’s new ‘Big 2’ and confirms that the Sinner–Alcaraz rivalry is set to command the tennis landscape for years to come.
