Russel Martin, the coach of English club Southampton FC has opened up on the chances of Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu remaining with the Saints.
Martin who opened up in a recent interview noted that Onuachu who has been courted by many clubs following a stellar season in Turkey with Trabzonspor said that he has a chance with the team while he is back with other players for pre-season.
He also stated that in the coming days, the club will have to decide if he is going to play or get involved in some way but if that is not the case, then there will be a discussion about his future.
“Paul is back now with us after a bit of an extended break,” Martin was quoted by Southampton Echo.
“He had a brilliant season in Turkey, at a club that has a lot of affection for him now. So, we’ll have to wait and see. ”

“They all have a chance while they’re back here. They all have a chance. As the pre-season pans out, they assess their situation in terms of what it looks like.
“Whether they’re going to be playing, if they’re going to be involved or not, then it will be a discussion between us and then we’ll wait and see.”
Meanwhile, the Chief Executive Officer, of Southampton, Rasmus Andersen has declared that Onuachu who scored 15 goals in 21 league appearances for Trabzonspor while on loan last season will leave Southampton for the right price.
“My phone rings every day when people want to talk about Onuachu. But if you want to buy a Ferrari, you cannot come up with Fiat money,” he was quoted by NTVSpor.
