Chippa United goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has been passed fit to play the two forthcoming friendly games for the Super Eagles against Ghana and Mali in Morocco.
In Chippa United’s 2-0 loss to the reigning champion Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in South Africa, the goalie caused concern when he was substituted off the field.
The severity of what appears to be a knee injury raised questions about the 27-year-old’s availability for both games, even though he played for 73 minutes in the highly competitive match.
However, Nwabali is expected to be fit to play the round-robin game again, with reports indicating that his injury is not serious and that he is likely to recover in time for the matches.
He has also allayed the fears of his fans over his injury concerns on his official X (formerly Twitter) page, expressing hope and determination.
“Hope and confidence. It takes just one star to pierce a universe of darkness. We don’t give up here.” Nwabali wrote, brushing off concerns expressed by his many fans.
