Former AC Milan coach Stefano Pioli has been included in a three-man list to replace Marcelo Gallardo as the new manager of Saudi Arabia pro-league side Al Ittihad.
This was made known in a post shared on X (formerly Twitter) by football transfer guru Fabrizio Romano who noted that Al Ittihad has included Pioli in a three-man shortlist.
‘‘Stefano Pioli, one of the three main options to be new Al Ittihad manager. Al Ittihad are discussing three candidates and Pioli has been included in the shortlist after leaving AC Milan.’’ Romano wrote on his official X handle on Thursday.
This comes days after Italian Serie A side AC Milan appointed Paulo Fonseca as manager after botched talks with Spanish tactician Julen Lopetegui who has now signed for EPL side West Ham.

The 51-year-old Portuguese, who managed Lille from 2022-2024, now replaces Stefano Pioli, who left AC Milan by mutual consent.
Fonseca, previously with Roma, Shakhtar Donetsk, and Porto, has signed a three-year deal with AC Milan until 2027.
AC Milan had advanced talks with Lopetegui to replace Pioli, but Lopetegui chose to join West Ham, replacing David Moyes.
