Roberto Calenda, the agent of Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen has reacted to his client’s rumoured move to EPL side Chelsea in a swap deal with Romelu Lukaku.

Recall that the media has been awash in the past two days of a reported loan deal involving Osimhen moving to Chelsea and Lukaku pitching tents with Napoli.

The swap deal which was reported by The Athletic further claimed that it included a buy option for Osimhen who is seeking a move away from his current club Napoli.

However, in a post on his X account (formerly Twitter), Calenda has rubbished the reports describing them as fake news and an unfounded imaginary trade involving his client.

“I’ve read about unfounded imaginary trades involving Victor, shipped around like a package ready for delivery.

‘‘But remember that this “package” is the top scorer of the third scudetto in Naples’ history.

‘‘Respect and no more fake news!’’ Calenda wrote on his official X page.

This comes days after Napoli Sporting Director Mauro Molisso told those who care to listen that the club made a mistake by not making efforts to sell Osimhen last season.

Molisso who made the admission in a recent interview with the Italian media said that Napoli made some mistakes in Osimhen’s management which the club may regret.

According to Molisso, when he joined the club last season, there was a very high offer from one of the biggest teams in Europe and Napoli could have taken the opportunity to sell Osimhen.

“We made some mistakes in Osimhen’s management. I arrived in Naples in mid-July and I knew that there had been a very high offer from one of the biggest teams in Europe. In hindsight, we are all good, but perhaps we could have sold him,” he told Sportitalia via Corriere dello Sport.
