Nigerians have been putting the federal government under immense pressure to help the citizens leave the country after war broke out in Sudan.

Sudan has allowed nations to evacuate their diplomats and citizens, and some countries have started doing that, including the United States.

Meanwhile, the chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission Abike Dabiri-Erewa had earlier stated that it was impossible for any flight to land in Sudan during the current period of war.

The statement is not palatable news for Nigerian students living in Sudan as their hopes of leaving the country which is currently at war have been dashed.

The National Emergency Management had made plans to evacuate up to 1,700 students from Sudan but it was impossible for flights to land because of the war.
