Former Nigerian soccer international Sunday Oliseh has congratulated Super Eagles striker Ademola Lookman on his recent 2024 Ballon d’Or award nomination.
Oliseh in a post shared on his official X handle (formerly Twitter) celebrated Lookman for joining the exclusive list of Nigerians who were globally acclaimed in the game of football.
He also stated that he is delighted that Lookman has joined the exclusive list.
“Congratulations to Ademola Lookman for joining this exclusive list of Nigerians who were globally acclaimed! Naija’s all-time magnificent 8 just became THE MAGNIFICENT 8. Delighted and welcome to the club, Lil bro.” he wrote.

This year’s shortlist for the esteemed award only includes one African player, Ademola Lookman who has before now established himself as a serious contender for the trophy with to his outstanding achievements in the Serie A with Atalanta, his historic hat trick in the UEFA Europa League final, and the 2023 AFCON.
Lookman, a graduate of the Charlton Athletic FC academy, was one of the thirty nominees that the France Football award organizers revealed on Wednesday.
Football players like Vinicius Junior, Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Nico Williams, Jude Bellingham, and Kylian Mbappe are among the players the Nigerian international will compete against for the honour.
