Nigeria’s Super Eagles have plummeted yet again in the latest men’s rankings announced by the Federation of International Football Associations (FIFA) on Thursday.

The three-time African champions have dropped from 38th to 39th place globally. This follows a drop from 30th to 38th place in last month’s FIFA rankings.

Despite their slip in the global standings, the Super Eagles remain fifth in Africa.

Morocco’s Atlas Lions continue to lead in Africa, followed by Senegal, Egypt, and Cote d’Ivoire.

On the world scene, World Cup champions Argentina, who just defended their Copa America title, are in first place.

France is second in the FIFA standings, with recently crowned European champions Spain rising from seventh to third.

England’s Three Lions have risen to fourth after reaching the Euro 2024 final, while South American heavyweights Brazil have plummeted to fifth on the monthly rankings.
