The Super Falcons of Nigeria have qualified for the Paris 2024 Olympics after forcing Bayana Bayana of South Africa to a goalless draw in the second leg of the Paris 2024 Olympics qualifier.
The Nigerian women’s national team performed admirably well in the second leg of their last qualifying round match at Loftus Versfeld Stadium in Pretoria on Tuesday night against the Banyana Banyana of South Africa.
The West African female soccer team held the reigning African champions to a 0-0 draw, scaling through 1-0 on aggregate, thus ending a sixteen-year wait to qualify for the Olympics.

Following their qualification for the 2024 Paris Olympics, the Super Falcons will now square up against Brazil, Spain and Japan during the games, which will be staged in a few months.
While reacting to the team’s group of death pairings for the Olympics, Super Falcons striker Desire Oparanozie said that her team is capable of qualifying from group C.
“It’s a tough group; Spain are world champions, Japan were previous world champions and Brazil are a household name in the game,” the player said.
“But I believe in the team, we will do well at the Olympics, the girls will show what they are made of; they will make themselves proud.” Oparanozie noted.
