Super Falcons forward Esther Okoronkwo has expressed strong confidence that Nigeria will defend its Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) crown and clinch a record-extending 11th title when the tournament kicks off in Morocco in 2026.

Nigeria sealed their place in next year’s finals with a 3–1 aggregate victory over neighbours Benin Republic, thanks in part to Okoronkwo’s standout performances.

The AFC Toronto striker scored in the 2–0 first-leg win in Cotonou and registered an assist in the 1–1 return leg in Abeokuta that confirmed the Falcons’ qualification.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Sports Tonight after the match, Okoronkwo said the team is determined to maintain Nigeria’s dominance on the continent.

“Yes. With Nigeria, everything is possible for sure,” Okoronkwo said. “We’re not going there to not want to win or just go there for vibes. We want to win the 11th [WAFCON title] for sure.”

With South Africa, Morocco, Zambia, and Ghana already qualified, competition is expected to be fierce, but Okoronkwo insists that the Super Falcons’ spirit, unity, and pedigree will once again set them apart as Africa’s undisputed queens of football.
