There has been another twist in the tale ahead of the forthcoming general election later in the month as the Labour Party (LP) governorship candidate in Kano state, Bashir Bashir, has reportedly dumped his party for the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), The Punch reports.
The LP gubernatorial candidate made the surprise move to join the ruling party on Sunday evening, February 12, 2023, and The Punch confirmed a close source to Bashir confirmed the defection.
Reports claim that the source said the reason for Bashir’s defection was allegedly on the exclusion of major northern stakeholders from its decision-making process, as well as the lack of clear-cut direction on the interest of northern Nigeria.
