Retson Tedheke, an agricultural entrepreneur with farms in Keffi and Kokona in Nasarawa state, has accused President Bola Tinubu of having no plans for Nigerian farmers.

Delta-born Tedheke made the allegation while reacting to the rise in diesel prices, ultimately leading to the hike in food prices due to transportation costs.

Lamenting what farmers are currently going through due to diesel prices, he wrote on X:

”I cannot use my 200kva and 250kva on the farm to mill rice. Those are about N50 million worth of machines I cannot use.

”I also don’t have electricity to make it easier after the farm spent over N150 million to get a 33kva line to the farm with two transformers. 100kva for Ga’ate communities and 500kva for the farm estate.

”Somehow, people like me who will invest every Kobo in making agriculture work are not considered when these issues are discussed. We are currently being harassed.

”There is nothing in this government that is giving Nigerian farmers hope.”

He added that rural agricultural productivity needs to receive attention from successive governments.

He added that he wants the president to succeed concerning agriculture, adding that his outburst on social media is part of the process, not against the president.
