A former federal lawmaker, Shehu Sani, has said the President Bola Tinubu-led administration has ensured the spread of poverty across the country.
Mr Sani said this in a terse tweet on Wednesday.
Mr Sani, a former senator from Kaduna Central, stated that the northern area, which had held the title for being the poorest region in the country, no longer maintains such a position, as the suffering experienced by many Nigerians in recent months has extended across the country.
“Poverty used to be exclusively for the North, now the Government is making sure there is even spread, and no section of the country is marginalised.” He said.
He said this against the backdrop of increased public outrage over measures such as subsidy withdrawal and the unified currency rate implemented by President Tinubu’s administration in the three months after his inauguration on May 29.
