The All Progressives Congress (APC) has postponed the commencement of its presidential campaign indefinitely.
The postponement may not be unconnected with the departure to London of the APC presidential candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
While critics believe Tinubu had travelled to seek medical attention, those in his camp say the APC presidential candidate had scheduled meetings with some interest groups.
But in a statement on Tuesday, the director-general of the Tinibu/Shettima campaign group, Simon Lalong, said the move was to include more members in the council.
“Due to the expansion of the list to accommodate more stakeholders and interests within the APC family, we have decided to adjust the timetable of these activities in order to ensure everyone is on board before activities officially commence.”
“Consequently, the activities earlier announced for the 28th of September will no longer hold,” the statement said.
