Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has emerged victorious in Benue state despite being a stronghold of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate defeated Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi of the Labour Party in the state, as he polled 310,468 votes.
LP party’s flagbearer Obi who was endorsed by Governor Samuel Ortom came second with 308,372, while the PDP candidate had 130,081 votes.

Tinubu was also announced as the winner of the presidential party in Zamfara, beating Atiku to the second and third positions, respectively.
The former Lagos state governor polled 298,396 votes to win 12 out of the local governments in the state.
Atiku finished second with 193,978 votes as Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) polled 4,044 and LP came third with 1,660.
