Tinubu deserves empathy over his health – Fani-Kayode

Femi Fani-Kayode, former aviation minister, has condemned attacks on Bola Tinubu, presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), over his health condition.

Fani-Kayode, who is the Director of Special Media Projects and New Media for the APC Presidential Campaign Council, stated this while reacting to recent comments credited to Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

Atiku is quoted to have said that Tinubu should not be taken seriously due to the controversies surrounding his health, age and education.

In a reaction, the former APC critic described Asiwaju as second to none among presidential candidates for the 2023 polls.

Fani-Kayode noted that Tinubu deserves more empathy over his health rather than mockery.

“When he and his men attempt to mock the Jagaban on issues of health I laugh and shake my head with pity for them. The truth is that Asiwaju is so far ahead of Atiku in this and every other respect and they know it,” he said.

“A man that cannot empathise with the suffering of the people and that gloats when people are suffering and when there is turmoil in the land cannot be trusted with power,” he added.
