Tinubu dominates in Southwest despite losing stronghold in Lagos

The All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Asiwaju Bola Tinubu is currently the leading candidate in the Southwest region.

Despite losing in Lagos and Osun state the former Lagos state governor made his mark in Ekiti, Ondo, Ogun, Kwara and Oyo. 

However, the APC candidate lost to Peter Obi representing the Labour Party in Lagos state during the presidential polls.

The Peoples Democratic Party candidate Atiku Abubakar has won 25 per cent of votes in 24 states across all six regions.

The former vice president won Osun, Gombe, Yobe, Adamawa and Katsina states respectively as the 2023 presidential polls is expected to end in a photo finish.

On the hand, Obi has won Plateau and Lagos in the results released so far by the election body.
