Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu has promised the Edo people that the state will generate revenue from their gas deposits if he is elected the next president of Nigeria.

During a town hall meeting held on Sunday, January 29, 2023, the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate made the disclosure to APC stakeholders and different trade groups and civil society organisations.

The former Lagos state governor also added that Edo being the Heart Beat of Nigeria will compete in gas production with the likes of superpower Russia.

In a statement signed by the media officer to the APC flagbearer Tunde Rahman, Tinubu encouraged the Edo people to reclaim their mandate from their opposition, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) by forging unity of purpose.

The statement read:
“Edo, take your state back. First of all, let us forge unity. Let’s find the way where they say there is no way.”
