Presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has returned to Nigeria after twelve days of rest in the United Kingdom.
The private jet conveying Tinubu and his team touched down at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport on Thursday evening.
The APC vice presidential candidate, Senator Kashim Shettima, and other party members.
Tinubu’s return to the country has quelled rumours over his health condition and physical fitness for the campaigns.
There has been controversy over Tinubu’s unavailability in the country, especially with the official commencement of campaigns for the 2023 general elections.
The situation was made worse by party chieftains who claimed they had no idea about Tinubu’s whereabouts.
Recall that former Edo state governor, Adams Oshiomhole, had said he does not know where Tinubu was when asked about the reason for the APC presidential candidate’s absence at the signing of the peace accord.
However, the spokesperson of the Tinubu/Shettima Campaign Council, Festus Keyamo, said his party’s standard bearer would be back in the country in a few days.
“I know he would be back in a couple of days.” I have that information. I don’t know the day. I can’t say Friday or Saturday, but I know he would be back in a couple of days, “Keyamo told ChannelsTV on Wednesday, October 5.
