The President of Nigeria Ahmed Bola Tinubu has ensured Nigerians that he is working on ensuring peace in Nigeria by providing the military with the necessary support they need.

News.ng recalls that the president travelled to Maiduguri in Borno state a few days ago.

The president gave this assurance while attending the 2023 Chief of Army Staff Annual Conference in Borno state capital Maiduguri.

He said this via his spokesperson Ajuri Ngelale, that he will not allow insecurity to persist in the country as he is trying his best to eliminate any form of threat to the country’s security.

He also commended the military for the delivery of their various duties and called on them to ensure constitutional law and order in Nigeria and to maintain all paths set by democracy.

“The professional conduct of the Armed Forces during the elections in Bayelsa, Imo and Kogi states underscores your role as a guardian of our constitutional order and democracy precepts.

”In this regard, the Nigerian Army must remain completely non-partisan but vigilantly pro-democracy.”

“We also note with great satisfaction the many civilian-military projects across the country, some of which will be commissioned during this conference.”

The president said that the civil–military projects will boost relationship between civilian and the military, leading to better overall living standards of the populace.

The president noted that the Federal Government is working to introduce modern combat and more powerful offensive striking equipment for the military.

The Chief of Army Staff, LG Taoreed Lagbaja informed the president that various terrorist groups within the country have been neutralized, and the military is also making efforts to reduce clashes between farmers and herders.

Following these achievements the army notes the importance of evaluation and will use the benefits from this conference to initiate new strategies to deliver its constitutional duties, the Lieutenant said.
